Montanans Want Public Lands Protected
Trust Wild Montana to defend them.

Imagine 20 years from now ...
The Montana you love is unrecognizable. Oil rigs and mining operations scar once-pristine landscapes. The trails you grew up hiking? Blocked off — gated by private landowners or lost to erosion and neglect. Luxury resorts dominate entire mountain ranges, their “No Trespassing” signs replacing trailheads. A day on the river comes with a steep price tag — only those who can afford it get to cast a line. The places that shaped your best memories, where you found adventure, solace, and connection, are disappearing.
Unfortunately, there are very real threats right now that could change the fabric of our cherished public lands forever. But we see a much different future. Will you join us to defend our wild places?
Your gift directly supports mobilizing Montanans in real-time.
Your support helps us rally our community and provide timely updates on critical threats to public lands, ensuring people can take action when it matters most.
Stopping state-led land grabs – We’re leading the charge against bills that would strip protections from 7 million acres of Montana’s wildest places.
Defending federal safeguards – NEPA and the Antiquities Act ensure Montanans have a voice in public land decisions. We’re fighting to keep these laws strong.
Pushing back on agency cuts – This year alone, over 360 Montana-based Forest Service jobs were slashed, threatening wildfire prevention, trail maintenance, and conservation work. We’re working to restore funding and staffing.
Keeping trails open – With public land funding at risk, our Volunteer Trail Crew is stepping up to maintain the trails Montanans rely on. Your support will help fill the funding gap.
