Together, We Won't Stop Defending a Wild and Connected Montana

2025 may be ending, but our work for Montana’s wild places is far from over. Each new season brings challenges and opportunities to stand up for the lands, waters, and communities we care about. Together, we’re ready to meet whatever comes next and keep Montana wild.

There's a lot at stake and the future of Montana's wild places depends on all of us.

Your support ensures that no matter the political landscape, we’ll be here to fight for Montana’s wildlands. No other organization has the power and reach to advocate for our public lands like we do. We mobilize tens of thousands of passionate people — people like you — who understand that our wildlands are worth fighting for.

Your gift will support critical on-the-ground campaigns, like:

Our Public Lands are Not for Sale

Across the country, public lands are under attack. The cuts, the leases, and the rollbacks are not random. They are deliberate. They are leading to a future where decisions are made to serve private interests and the land is no longer ours. Together, we're drawing the line in the dirt.

Roadless Rule Defense

The Forest Service is attempting to roll back the 2001 Roadless Rule and we're fighting back, every step of the way. By unifying our voices, sending public comments, and signing petitions, we're defending roadless lands every day.

Wildfire Policies and Awareness

As wildfires continue to threaten Montana’s forests and communities, Wild Montana is advancing policies to make our landscapes more resilient and our towns safer. We’ve recently launched a grassroots program to build support for these policies at both the state and federal levels, ensuring that Montanans have a voice in shaping a safer, more sustainable future.

Volunteer Trail Crew and Free Community Hikes

Montana’s trails are where we make lasting memories, find solitude, and connect with nature and each other. We’re all fighting to protect these wild places to enjoy them today and ensure future generations have the same opportunities. In the coming year, we’ll bring hundreds of people closer to these cherished landscapes through guided hikes and volunteer-led trail projects that preserve access to the places we love.
